Autism: Building Blocks Toward Success

Hi, my name is Lisa Basore. I live in Williamston, and I am in my second year as an Autism Consultant in the Ingham Intermediate School District . I graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelors Degree in Special Education and soon after recieved a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology.  I am currently attending Oakland University, completing the last of five courses to receive my Autism endorsement.   In my current position I work strictly with students on the Autsim Spectrum, ranging in age from 3 to 26.

For as long as I can remember I have been intrigued and inspired by individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  I began working with students on the spectrum in High School and realized then that teaching and working with people with Autism was what I was meant to do.

For me, the most rewarding part of my job is to educate others about Autism.  For years, I believe, Autism was clouded by a negative stigma.  In recent years, thanks to a better understanding of Autism, there is a positive light, and newfound hope when considering Autism and it's effects.

In this web site, I look forward to sharing the positive aspects and successful interventions that help when working with students on the Autism Spectrum.
